If you have to choose between posting on social media and speaking on podcasts, speak on podcasts. Social media disappears within 24 hours, while podcast episodes stay visible for years, and they are indexed, citable and findable. Podcasts make you visible to AI, trusted by AI, and trusted by humans, which is not something a social post can do for you.
The question to start with: when someone asks AI about the topic you are an expert in, does your name show up? If the answer is no, you need to rethink your strategy.
We all have limited time. If you are a mom like I am, you cannot do everything even if you wanted to, so you have to think very clearly about the strategy behind your marketing. Simplified, there are two ways to spend that time on visibility. You either rely on social media, or you focus on strategies that build trust and work for you in the long term. There are several strategies in that second group, and today I want to talk about podcasts.
The newest studies show that 94% of B2B buyers research experts with AI before they even make contact. They ask AI for an expert in your niche, they get names, and then they have an entire conversation about those names. By the time they book a call or write you an email, they already know a lot about you and they have most likely made up their mind that they want to work with you.
It is the same in B2C, where it is more than half of people. If you are a dating coach, more than 50% of your potential clients are asking AI for a dating expert and having that conversation before they ever reach out to you.
So what does that mean? It means that if AI does not know you, cannot find you, and cannot read your expertise, your website and your digital footprint, you are invisible to a lot of potential buyers.
From 2026 and beyond, investing in your AI visibility is a very wise strategy, and the opportunity right now is big, because only 11% of brands are actually findable by AI at the moment. That means 89%, most likely including you, are not readable and not findable. That is a massive opportunity.
The takeaway is that visibility in the AI era is not about being seen. It is about being remembered and recommended by AI.
Before we had AI, we all had to create content out of our own heads, with our own fingers. We had to write it down ourselves, and people knew that if you shared content about a topic, you knew that topic.
Now people know we have AI. Anybody can produce polished, expert-sounding content in a couple of minutes. You say you want a post about a subject and AI writes it for you, and if you train it properly, you can pretend to be an expert in a niche you have no real idea about. People know this.
And when everybody sounds like an expert and everybody sounds trustworthy, people stop trusting. You can see it yourself. There is big social media fatigue going on, because everything is crowded with AI content, and people simply do not trust it anymore. We are in a trust recession, and building trust with your audience is one of the most important things you can do if you want a future-proof personal brand.
Real trust has to come from something you cannot fake with AI, which means third-party endorsements: podcasts, media, summits. When you speak on a podcast, you borrow the trust of the host, because the host says you are an expert, and you borrow the reputation of the show. A third party vouching for you is far more valuable than you posting about how great you are and what you have achieved, because we can all create anything we want now.
The takeaway is that in a trust recession, proof beats polish. You need credibility that you did not create yourself, especially if you sell high ticket and especially if you are building a personal brand. You cannot really create credibility yourself, because when you say you are amazing about yourself, that is advertising, and advertising is not credible.
You have heard me say this before. Social media is rented land. They change the algorithm and you start from scratch, and we have seen it happen over and over.
When I started my first business in 2014, everybody on Facebook could see everything I posted. It was amazing. Over the years, organic reach plummeted, and now it is pay to play, on every platform.
My main platform now is LinkedIn, where I have 12,000 followers, and my posts are currently seen by somewhere between 70 and 300 people. It used to be 3,000 or 4,000, so I used to reach a third or a quarter of my entire audience, and now it is 1% or 2%. It is the same on Facebook, the same on Instagram. It does not really matter which platform.
Your posts are also temporary. They disappear within 24 hours, because there is so much new content coming in behind them. And people are tired. I feel it myself and you probably feel it too, because everything sounds the same, so you keep scrolling and you no longer have the attention to read all of it. You spend a lot of time creating content, probably amazing content, and it is simply not visible any more.
The content inside social media is also not interesting to AI, and AI does not really read it. Why? Because it is not third party. Anything you say about yourself is not interesting to AI.
The platforms that are relevant to AI are LinkedIn and YouTube, because they are huge, they have a big reputation and very strong domain authority, and if you create long-form content there, AI can cite it. But if you are only writing posts on LinkedIn rather than publishing articles, that is not interesting. The same goes for Instagram and TikTok. So you end up trying to build a following and trying to be visible, and not even the people already following you see it.
The bottom line is that you spend a lot of time for very little visibility. Social media keeps you busy, and it does not build the trust that you get to keep.
There are several strategies AI cannot fake, and podcasts are one of them. You cannot send your AI avatar to a podcast interview and have a conversation. You have to show up as a human.
And when you have a real conversation with another human being about your niche and your expertise, that is when people trust you, because you are in their ear for 30 to 60 minutes. But AI trusts you too, because it was a real conversation and you were endorsed by a third party. You spoke on someone else’s show, you get the backlink, and the host mentions your name and links out to your channels.
Then you talk about the same topics over and over, and that is how AI can see that you are an expert on a subject, because you talk about the same things all the time and you are always endorsed by a third party. At the same time you are creating long-form natural content that AI can cite.
And when the episode is also published on YouTube, you get the high domain authority of the platform, the third-party endorsement of the platform, the long-form natural content, and the trust that comes from having shown up as a human and talked about what you know.
This is the biggest difference between the two. You can write all the content you want with AI. You can even create an avatar that looks exactly like you and speaks flawlessly, no ums, no pauses, saying exactly what you tell it to say, and that is how far it has already come. But you cannot do that on a podcast show. You have to show up.
That is why speaking on podcasts is my number one strategy, and the one I recommend to every personal brand, alongside having content on a website and being in the media. Together those three are the Visibility Triangle™. The website is the foundation, which means AI readable, with your schema markup, the pages that matter to AI, and content on it. Then podcasts, which create everything I just described. Then media, which is the highest trust level you can reach.
If you want to build your personal brand quickly and become AI visible quickly, start with podcasts. While you are reaching out to shows, get your website fixed and ready, and use the content that comes out of your podcast interviews to publish on the site. Once the website and the podcasts are in place, go and pitch the media.
Podcasts, if you have to choose between the two. A social media post disappears within 24 hours, while podcast episodes stay visible for years and are indexed, citable and findable. Speaking on podcasts makes you visible to AI, trusted by AI and trusted by humans, and a post cannot do that.
Because it is not third-party. Anything you say about yourself is essentially advertising, and that is not interesting or credible to AI, which relies on what others say about you instead. LinkedIn and YouTube are the exceptions worth knowing about, because they have big reputations and strong domain authority, but that applies to long-form content there, not to ordinary posts.
Not the kind of trust you get to keep. Anybody can produce polished, expert-sounding content in minutes now, and people know it, so when everybody sounds like an expert, people stop trusting. Real trust has to come from something you cannot fake with AI, which means third-party endorsements like podcasts, media and summits.
You get a backlink, the host mentions your name and links out to your channels, and the episode becomes long-form natural content that AI can cite. Because you talk about the same topics across many shows, AI can see that you are an expert on them, and that you are consistently endorsed by third parties. When the episode is also published on YouTube, you add the domain authority and endorsement of that platform on top.
Start with podcasts, and fix your website while you are pitching. The website is the foundation, so it needs to be AI readable with schema markup, the pages that matter to AI and content on it, and you can use the content from your podcast interviews to fill it. Once the website and the podcast appearances are in place, pitch the media, which is the highest trust level you can reach.
So here is the verdict. Between posting on social media and speaking on podcasts, podcasts win, because social media disappears within 24 hours and podcasts stay visible for years. Podcast shows are indexed, citable and findable, and when people discover a show, they often go straight to the search bar and search for specific topics.
The fastest way to become someone AI recommends is to become someone real people put on their show. It is one element of the picture, but it is a very big one. Join the AI Visibility Lab and learn how!

I’ve been where you are now, and not only have I spent 23+ years inside the media industry as a former journalist and PR consultant—learning how visibility, trust, and authority actually work—but I’ve also built and scaled my own business in the coaching industry for over 12 years using SEO and PR long before “personal branding” was a buzzword. I’ve made the mistakes, tested what actually moves the needle, and distilled it all into my proprietary frameworks: the Visibility Triangle™ and the Publicity Rockstar™ Method.
